Srx orchestra movie#
Sorry, but as someone who owns SRX-04 and has owned both of the SR.JV "Orchestral" cards (and the vocal card) upon which SRX-06 is based, I have to say that for MOVIE music SRX-04 is hands down the must have card. I don't think you'll be dissapointed with SRX-04 or SRX-10 But with only 8 meg and trying to cram a whole set of orchestral samples into it, I can't believe its strings could compare with a 64 meg board exclusively dedicated to strings (SRX-04). I have nothing against the original SRJV expansion board samples - I owned 5 of them, including the orchestral board (SRJV-02 I believe). Since SRX-04 is focused entirely on strings, and was created well after the end of the JV libraries, which is what SRX-06 is a collection of, then I have to conclude that my ears do not deceive me - SRX-04 has much better and more varied strings. But with 60 days 'till NAMM, unless I needed the sounds right now, I would wait on SRX-06 to see if Roland ups the ante with a better quality set of orchestral samples. I would start with SRX-04 and SRX-10, and then add SRX-06.

Srx orchestra software#
If I were doing serious orchestral stuff on a Roland unit with more than one SRX expansion, and not planning on using software based libraries such as Garritan, then I would definitely not substitute SRX-04 with SRX-06. Some say the strings on the complete orchestra are not that good, and it's better to get the symphonique strings board.īut the complete orchestra might be newer? (becuase it's number 6 instead of 4?).Īnd how about the quality of the complete orchestra compared to the symphonique strings, becuase it seems like they have gone for numbers instead of quality on the orchestra board(maybe).Īlready listened to all the demo's online (too much, but the symphonique strings dont have many examples, so not a fair comparison it seems. I think the complete orchestra is more what I want to have, but are the strings on that board any good? The srx 04- symphonique strings have better strings I believe, but the orchestra is more all round (has lots more sounds).

I already searched the forums, but that didnt really made the choice any easier. Now the Fantom-S seems to lack a little bit a those sounds, so I'm thinking of getting a SRX board. You know, music with some orchestra and strings etc. I mainly compose what I like to call "movie music".
